How late?

"I don't like people who apply for leave, every now and then".

The boss began lecturing his lady Secretary, "I don't mind if the members of my staff ask permission to attend the office a bit later than the usual time".

The very next day the boss received a phone call from his Secretary- She pleaded that she cannot attend the office at the usual hour and requested him to permit her to come a bit late.

"How 'late' it would be?" queried the boss.

"Only 24 hours, Sir" said the Secretary, obediently.
