Smart Kid

A kid lost his way and was crying profusely. An elderly gentleman notices this and enquires about his whereabouts.

"Lets go son, I will drop you at your house", says the gentleman.

Still crying, the kid says "Not now uncle. Drop me after midnight."

The elderly man is taken aback and asks "Why then?"

"If you take me home now, my parents will be mad at me for going out and getting lost. When they don't see me till midnight they will be worried and will give Police complaint. If you take me then, they will be very happy to see me.

At that time they will not be mad at me; and instead of scolding, they will give me sweets and chocolates" said the smart kid.
