From Darkness to Light…a ‘Soul’ful Overview by Dr. C V Kondaiah

He was one among the playful children until then. Suddenly, he sat down to meditate and a flow of mantras in Sanskrit started flowed out of the child’s throat. The voice was of an elderly and experienced chanter. Parents and neighbourhoods shocked to the happening. They were all in hasty thoughts whether this boy had gone mad. Did any evil spirit invoked into him? On the other hand, is that he lost his psychological balance? By that time, they started to do something; the child woke from the meditation and told the onlookers that he was a saint in his previous birth. On remembering his previous birth, he was guided to the right path, he said. Since then, he wore saffron and immersed into a rigorous meditation.

At a distant place, a different time, a virgin took an oil bath. She decorated self as a married woman’s attire. She questioned her brothers and sisters as, who they were. Why was she there? The family did not know what had struck them. She further said that she was married to some one and delivered all the addresses where she was from. Two of the family members reached the places mentioned by her. After probing in the locality, they returned thunderstruck, as the concerned named housewife was dead some 150 years ago.

Several incidents are happening on earth similar to this. A countable few are becoming known through the media. Innumerable such incidents are dissolving into thin air for various reasons.

What is death? Do rebirths happen? If renaissances happen, why not every one remembers them? Where does the Soul leave to after leaving the body? What is the actual life span for Soul? Who manages all these shows? To what extent is that true, present birth is because of the deeds of the previous birth.

Many such brain storming questions must be emerging in many. However, only few try to dedicate their lives to find answers to such questions and reveal their findings to the human world for its welfare. Society has named such practitioners with various names, depending on their way of practice. Sage, saint, Bairagi, Mumukshu, Daivagna and Muni are few of the titles society had attributed them. Generally, the personalities belonging to this category would be reserved with the general trends of the society and live a little aloof.

There live a different category people. They utilise all their intellectuality, life and dedicate to unfurl the secrets of the nature. Then, for the benefit of the human community at large, they disclose all their findings to the society. These pathfinders do not bother whether the society offers them respect and recognise them for their effort or not. They just keep on doing things until they think they had reached the goal. History has a record of happenings how these persons will be treated. We refer to Socrates, now, as a great personality. History recorded that he was stoned in broad daylight and was given a ‘madman’ title. What more do we have to discuss about the acts of the learned society?

By the way, if we case aside the argument whether remembering previous birth as boon or curse, we all are too headstrong. We just pose as if we know everything, though we know only the minute of the never-ending knowledge ocean. Do you deny?

HamaraShehar.com had recently discussed for hours about this ‘fourth dimension’ of human life rather soul life with a research scholar Dr C V Kondaiah. During the discussion, newer and stranger angles (believable and unbelievable) came to light. We are presenting key excerpts of the discussion for our privileged citizens:

Q: What prompted you to head your research in such a strange subject?

A: Some thought provoking incidents happened while I was a lecturer. At the same time, many articles published in Indian and foreign periodicals influenced and drove me to this stranger angle of life and beyond death. This provided me a great opportunity to know many unknown stratum of the fourth dimension worlds.

One thing came very clear and clearer right from the day one of the research to this date. All the four Hindu Vedas written thousands of years ago comprised all the secret information about past, present and future generations of human kind. The world, especially India would be benefited to a great extent, if some humble and knowledgeable person translates them to the present day common language.

Q: Many foreign countries are ahead in their research and you are referring to ages old Vedas to be filled with all the knowledge. How does that strike a balance?

A: Can you dare to deny that India was abundantly rich in knowledge when other lands were even ignorant of culture? Vedas might be ages old, but they are the fresh ever references written in any language until now. I wish to present a small thing humbly. Any country of the world on the planet earth would not have excelled, if they had not taken an Indian’s advice and assistance.

For example, let us take the country that is leading in the innovativeness of the Information Technology. Can you analyse the growth minus Indians and their brainpower? Not in practical senses perhaps. The ill fate of the country is that we cannot properly recognise the native knowledge mines and give them the right place. Moreover, we would not even bother to think about the brain drain. That being the case, how can we protect our wealth? Thousands and thousands of years ago our sages had presented all the required information and knowledge to us in writing, we will not bother to have a look at them.

If a foreigner tells us the same thing we know in another form, we give a big hand to him and lift him to skies. Do not mistake me to have insulted any one; there are intellectuals on every part of the land. While the West is looking towards East for guidance and direction, ignorant East is looking towards the findings of the West. This is similar to have the Sun overhead and try to grasp its glow from a mirror. We really do not need any mirrors.

Q: There are variant calculations about the age of the living being. What actually is the duration of life?

A: Before I answer this I should remember two great personalities of the Hindu Dharma. One Lord Sri Krishna and the other foremost Guru Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada.

Lord Krishna recited in Bhagavad Gita as
“Jathasyahi Dhruvo Mruthyuh
Dhruvam Janma Mruthasyacha”

Adi Sankaracharya in his Bhaja Govindam extempore,
“Punarapi Jananam, Punarapi Maranam
Punarapi Janani Jathare Sayanam”

Irrespective of the time of preaching or discourse, all the great persons had meant only one.

In normal course of calculation, we try to take into consideration the duration from landing on the earth to death. In fact, Soul lives before taking birth and after physical death. Thousands of years ago, Charvaka mentioned in his ‘Charaka Samhitha’ in detail about this. He explained that a soul should take 84 lakh births on earth to attain salvation. Similarly, Saint Bhrigu in his Nadi Sashtra described that a soul should take various births and lives as astral body for a total period of 750 years.

By this, it should be understood that the first breath taken in the mother’s womb and last exhalation on earth does not mean either beginning or end of life of the soul. The actual calculation can be done only by expert divine persons.

Q: Hindu Dharma refers to Hell and Heaven stating that souls would board at either of the places. After their Karma (deed) result is experienced, souls return to take another birth. How far do your research confirm with this?

A: One way we can assume that there exist Hell and Heaven in the space above. However, the revelations of the souls summarise that they are in a different form than we think or taught by elders about. We all know that Earth is a planet in the Solar System. There are some planets in the System, which can never be detected by the machines how modern they might be. It was stated by the souls that those planets can be seen, gone and stayed only by the souls or astral bodies. Those planets were said to be a little beyond the earth environment or ozone layer.

A special path exists to reach those planets. In English, they term the way as ‘Black Tunnel’ or ‘Apto Plasma’. In Sanskrit, it is referred as ‘Rajatha Rajju’. By synchronising various revelations of the souls, at different times, it is learnt that there are seven such Cosmo planets in the outer space. God or the Almighty is in the seventh planet in the form of a divine glow. Of the remaining six planets, only three are directly related to the earthen activities and living beings. Rest three are totally out of Earth’s range.

A soul after leaving a body reaches the first of the planets and takes its next birth. The second and third planets can be considered as Guest or Rest houses for the astral bodies that have some time gap for taking another birth. That means the souls in the first three Cosmo planets are destined to take rebirths. The fourth, fifth and sixth planets are for those souls that are gradually going towards the seventh for salvation or to the descending souls to take birth.

Q: It was repeatedly stated that extremely puzzling scenes are seen by the dying persons. How far is it true? How long would it take for a living being to die?

A: Thousands of cases during the research proved that the dying persons come across various scenes that are divine. Some see their deity forms, some already dead relatives’ souls. The deathbed talk what generally is known or discarded, as senseless talk should be understood that the dying person’s soul to be interacting or having a conversation with the divine or astral bodies.

Through Kirlian photography, astral body of the dying person and the astral bodies that descended from heavenly spheres to accompany the soul to their kingdom were photographed in some cases. This Kirlian photographic technique was accidentally developed. A magazine wished to publish a complex operation live scenes in its issue. It deputed a photographer on the job. In one or two of the frames, photographed, an astral body emerging out of the patient’s body were seen after developing the reel.

The photographer was shocked to see those figures and rushed to the surgeons for clarification. Do you know what the clarification was? The surgeons confirmed that exactly at the time of those photographs being taken, the patient undergoing surgery was dead on the operation table. Later, an effort was put in and Kirlian photography was developed and modernised.

If we look at the ‘senseless’ dialogues of the dying persons, the common medical tradition had branded it as ‘Hallucination”. Nevertheless, this happens only on a countable few cases. A thorough research was done by Karlis Osis and Erlendur Haraldsson in this regard. Many valuable and astonishing facts were recorded by the duo during their research on thousands of dying persons. These two recorded all the facts and published a title ‘What they saw at the hour of Death’. They also utilised some equipment that can record minutest possible sound during their research. With the advent of this equipment, it has come to the knowledge of researchers that one common thing happens during every death. That is, a sound emerges from around the dying person of a sound similar to a saw cutting through a piece of wood. Exactly during this time, the persons suffer a lot with the death pain.

Spirits exposed that an invisible link exists between the astral and physical body. The invisible chord breaks emitting that sound and relieves the soul from the physical body. Then, for a death to happen it takes about two to four minutes. That is the reason how some doctors and surgeons are able to enliven the lost hope patients. Let us examine one such case that happened in Australia. Here I would request that people having more attachment to life should note this incident.

A patient suffering a cardiac problem was brought to a cardiologist. While the specialist was doing his job, the patient died. With great effort, the doctor could bring the patient to life. As usual, the doctor was expecting thanks from the patient after he opened his eyes. On the contrary, the doctor was stunned to hear all curses from the patient. Later, he got off the bed and asked pardon from the doctor stating, “That world was so beautiful, why had you brought me back to this hell. Any way, sorry for the inconvenience” and left the hospital. This ultimate truth was time and again referred by the angels that a soul would be liberated only when it dies in physical form and leaves the body.

Q: You were referring to Souls’ revelations and confirmations. If we assume (for time being) that they exist, how do they converse with the living beings? In what language?

A: There are many mediums to converse with the astral bodies or souls. Primely, I warn people to take care of the quacks in this regard. If we can approach the genuine person, then we can experience it. The mediums range from Ouija Board to human beings. If we are through a Ouija Board for conversation, then the answers to the human questions line up with alphabets. In case we choose to make a human medium to invoke a spirit and converse with it, it would be just similar to that we are doing in a question and answer form. About the language, it is your choice. Answers pour out in the language a question is forwarded.

Q: All human beings are with one soul. Then, how an entry of another soul is possible?

A: It is true that every living being is with a soul in the body. However, the persons having the knowledge of invoking souls into the medium can give entry to any number of spirits in one physical body. In case you wish to speak to some of the relatives’ souls then it is possible through a medium. Every time there will be a new experience while in this process of spirit speaking.

A person wished to speak to the souls of his mother, father and brother, all of who were dead in a road accident some time ago. During the conversation through a single medium, he understood that his brother’s spirit was not present there. When questioned about his presence, his mother and father’s souls answered that he had taken birth after he was dead in the accident. They also delivered the location, family, and name of the present physical body in which his brother’s soul had taken birth.

This man was astonished to note down the details. He later went to the address mentioned in the spirit speaking and to all his surprise; he could see a boy in all resemblance to his dead brother. He then spoke to the child’s father showing all the photographs he carried along. The gentleman was mistaking him to have come for cheating. The gentleman was satisfied only after he conversed with some of the souls of his family.

We have to observe here that the souls in the elite spheres will be watching the happenings on the earth. In addition to this, the souls carry some physical identities to their next births.

Q: Since when Parapsychology is in specific use? Were there any commendable results through this science?

A: According to Hindu mythologies, this subject is having strong foundations from the time immemorial. Some key traces could be seen during Ramayana and Maha Bharatha periods. If we gaze at the distant lands, research in this wing augmented notably during the end of 18th century, as the records say. In the year 1884, a College of Psychic Sciences was instituted. A full-fledged library is being maintained in this college on the topics relevant. Many research and reference manuals can be read through here about the spirit speaking with the dead after 1870.

‘On the edge of the Etheric or survival after death, scientifically explained” was published in 1945 authored by Sir Arthur Findlay. This paperback is referred to as the on par manual for the science. Earlier Sir Arthur Findlay scripted another book that went to printing in 1931. This one was reprinted for 44 times with in a span of 16 years.

Another important landmark experiment was done by a German psychologist Dr Konstantin Raudive in 1971. He has tape-recorded the voices of the dead. He has recorded in 6 years some 80,000 voices of which 25,000 voices were identifiable. The publisher in Germany, London and America has tested and tape recorded the voices of the dead in their own sealed tape recorders and has testified its truth. There have been male and female voices of Dr Raudive’s kith and kin as well as many other very important persons including Hitler.

The Russian scientists are spending crores of rupees on these researches and experiments. In 1885, the London Society for Psychical Research was instrumental in bringing Parapsychology into the purview of a science and introducing this as an academic subject. This was the reason why Parapsychology is advancing in countries like Britain. It is unfortunate that, though India is having the main root of the subject and science, no notable progress is happening in the country. Anyway, I’m happy that at least in the foreign countries there is some advancement.

Dr C V Kondaiah was born at Nandyala of Andhra Pradesh in 1940. He was away from education until he was 14. Then, he started his education in Hindi, national language. With all self-motivation and support he succeeded in doing his Ph.D. He has an inclination towards authoring something or the other right from his childhood. He completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Arts (Hindi) from Vishwakavi Robindranath Tagore’s Santhi Nikethan from 1962 to 1966. He did his Bharatiya Hindi Parangath and Sikshana Kala Praveena (B.Ed.) from Central Hindi Institute during 1958-59.

He resigned as high school teacher in 1968 and took over as lecturer at a degree college in Guntakal. He retired from services in 1998. In 1997, he was conferred with Teacher Fellowship by University Grants Commission. In 1981, he took his Ph.D. from Sri Venkateshwara University of Tirupati. In 1984, Dr Kondaiah was felicitated at Madhura of Uttar Pradesh and conferred with titles, “Sahitya Saraswathi and Sahitya Prabhakar”.

A historic ‘Tansen’ novel authored by Dr Kondaiah is widely popular among the literary circles. He is a columnist in Telugu and Hindi since long. His speeches were aired by the All India Radio on various occasions, on the subject. On June 8, 1995, Bharatiya Anuvada Parishad felicitated Dr Kondaiah for one of his translation works.

In 1998, he was awarded Andhra Pradesh State government’s best teacher award and a gold medal on the occasion. He is now settled at Hyderabad and continuing with his research and literary activities. Sarooravi among his pen names is widely popular. A year long serial on Khajuraho in Andhra Bhoomi magazine influenced many readers including TANA (Telugu Association of North America), who felicitated Dr Kondaiah on September 2, 2001 in Dallas.
