Buddha Statue

The sixteen metre tall monolithic Buddha statue on a rock called Rock of Gibraltar in the middle of Hussain Sagar (lake) weighs 350 tons. This statue was installed by the erstwhile Chief Minister of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, as a token of respect to Buddhism.

Boat rides around the Statue are available from Lumbini park which is located in the southern end of Hussain Sagar.
