Travel & Tourism Purana Pul
Purana Pul (lit. 'Old bridge') was known to have been built in 1578 by Ibrahim Qutub Shah to enable his son Mohammed Quli to visit Bhagmati, his beloved.
The bridge was reconstructed in 1820 by Sikander Jah.
This bridge has a row of 22 arches and stands 53 feet above the river bed. The name Purana Pul came up when a new bridge was constructed to its east. The new bridge, is known as Naya Pul (lit. 'New Bridge') appropriately.
